At Smither Psychiatry, Morgan Smither, PMHNP, provides diagnosis, medication management, and brief psychotherapy for adults living with schizophrenia and related conditions, in a respectful, judgment-free setting.

Our Approach to Schizophrenia Treatment
Diagnosis
Care starts with a careful evaluation. Morgan takes the time to understand your symptoms, history, and goals, and to rule out other causes before making a diagnosis.
Medication Management
Antipsychotic medications are the main treatment for schizophrenia. Morgan works with you to find a medication and dose that helps with symptoms while keeping side effects manageable, and adjusts the plan over time at regular follow-ups.
Brief Supportive Psychotherapy
Alongside medication, we provide support to help you:
- Recognize early warning signs that symptoms are returning
- Build daily routines that support stability
- Manage stress and side effects
- Stay on track with your treatment plan

Your initial appointment is a full hour, and follow-ups are 30 minutes. Your first visit will include:
- A comprehensive psychiatric assessment
- A review of your symptoms, history, and past treatment
- Discussion of your goals and concerns
